A GRADE MEN'S COACH

NICK SUBAN

Nick joins the club for the 2025 season and brings a wealth of experience to Curtin Wesley, with a distinguished playing career that included 156 AFL games for Fremantle Dockers along with 116 WAFL games and 4 WAFL Premierships. Most recently he’s been honing his coaching skills as an assistant coach at South Fremantle for the past two seasons.

A GRADE WOMEN'S COACH

KIM BOULTON

Kim brings a well-rounded football background to Curtin Wesley, highlighted by a decorated playing career that includes two premierships with East Fremantle. Her experience extends into coaching, having led the East Fremantle Women’s forward line, as well as spending four years overseeing the AFL Academy at Cecil Andrews College. Kim also offers a unique perspective on the game, with 16 years of umpiring experience to complement her playing and coaching journey. Having also pulled on the boots at Tigerland, Kim joined the Club in 2026 as A Grade Women’s coach, bringing strong leadership and a focus on development and performance across the group

A RESERVES MEN'S COACH

JARROD SALMERI

Jarrod boasts an impressive football career spanning from his junior days at Boddington through to six years of senior football with South Fremantle in the WAFL. After developing through South Fremantle’s pathway as a teenager, he progressed to the senior ranks, where he established himself across multiple seasons at the level. Following a return to Boddington to play country football, Jarrod joined Curtin Wesley in 2026 as both a League player and the Club’s Reserves coach. Bringing a wealth of experience and a strong understanding of the game, Jarrod focuses on building cohesion and shaping young footballers for Senior football.

A RESERVES WOMEN'S COACH

JACK BATTRICK

Jake became a part of Tigerland in 2022 and has made significant strides in nurturing the C2 women’s team, fostering a close-knit group dynamic among players from diverse football backgrounds. Whether you’re a newcomer looking to explore the sport or an experienced player, Jake cultivates an inclusive culture within the C2 women’s program, welcoming individuals of all skill levels with open arms.

C4 MEN'S COACH (3s)

BLAKE TAYLOR

After coaching our B Colts team from 2016 to 2025 and securing a Premiership in this grade in his final year in charge, in 2026 Blake took over the coaching position of our 3rds Men’s team. In his time at Tigerland Blake has served as an assistant coach for numerous other teams including our A Grade Women’s and A Colts. A Life Member at CUWFC, he’s an incredibly well respected member of the club and also sits on our committee.

C4 RESERVES MEN'S COACH (4s)

DEAN DIAMOND

Dean, a revered figure within the Curtin Wesley football club, has earned the prestigious title of both Life Member and Club Legend. Throughout his football career, he has amassed over 400 games for Curtin Wesley. Notably, Dean has also achieved success as a coach, with four premiership victories to his name, including the memorable triumph in 2023.

E2 SOUTH MEN'S COACH (5s)

MATT BARNSLEY

Matt, who joined Curtin Wesley in 2012 from the Subiaco development squad, has played over 150 games for the club. Matt has previously captained the 3’s team in 2016 and the 5’s team in 2022, showcasing his leadership abilities both on and off the field. Also, he has contributed as the assistant coach for the Club’s Brett Jones Colts in both 2015 and 2023

PHIL SCOTT COLTS COACH (A COLTS)

THOM BOWEY

Thom assumed the role of A-Colts Coach for the 2024 season, building on his extensive tenure with Curtin Wesley since joining as a player in 2016. Previously serving as the coach of the 3’s team from 2021 to 2023, Thom’s dedication and expertise have been instrumental in the team’s progress. His significant contributions were recognised with the prestigious President’s Award in 2022. Additionally, Thom played a pivotal role in securing the C5 premiership in the same year, leading the team to promotion to the C4 grade and demonstrating his exceptional coaching abilities

LAURIE KEANE COLTS COACH (B COLTS)

SAMUEL WILLIAMS

After playing Colts at Tigerland in 2020 and 2021, Sam was part of the Club’s B Colts Premiership as an assistant coach in 2025. In 2026, he stepped into the head coaching role for the side. Sam also spent time in the Perth Demons development program and has since been a regular contributor across the Club’s senior grades. Widely respected around the Club, he’s focused on building strong chemistry within the group while helping players learn the game and get the most out of their footy.

INTEGRATED COACHES

ANDREW McCARREY & MATT OLIVIERI

Andrew and Matt have been coaching the Curtin Wesley Integrated team since 2021, leading the team to premiership victories in both 2021 and 2023. Their coaching philosophy emphasises not only on-field success but also the development of a positive culture, strong relationships, and personal growth among team members. They prioritise creating an environment where players can enjoy themselves while striving for excellence, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fun both on and off the field.
